The Shift to Waterloo

Official moving in, on thursday night was like a massive whirl-wind! At Randwick, moving in & out of the front door, down 1 flight of stairs, pass the box to Clement, Clement brings it down another flight of stairs and places the box at the ground floor outside the main door.
Time Check: it was approx. 10 plus into the night. We met with the first hiccup. The van couldn't fit all into 1 trip. Moral of this: We are bad at Tetris.

Clement was the driver. His virgin-drive on a Van. Apparently, his first time was good. A safe driver. So we took 2 trips in total to move all we had from Randwick to Waterloo. We took a trolley, stack the boxes, carried the luggages and bit by bit we fill Unit 289. Finally, the bed. You'll never know how big your bed is until you carry it and try fitting it inside the lift. The length measures from door-to-door! If it is King-sized, you'll have to head for the stairs.
This whole move was making our stomachs growling in hungry, hot & sweaty, tired & aching... And then the HIGHLIGHT of the Move.

We were with the next batch of luggages and trolley of boxes, as I flashed my Security-card. -Beep!- Automatic door remained closed. Then in some miraculous happening, the intercom beeped in an "error" sort of sound, the door slided apart. We rushed in and I thought my Security card was de-magnetised by rubbing & clashing my keys to the card for the whole moving trip. We just squat outside the lift & kept beeping it, it just won't bring us up to our Level. We start to get abit anxious about this whole flash-card-beep-no-doors-open feeling. Then Clement went to look for the Fire-Stairs access up to our place. Nahz.. can't find any. And then someone came through. THANK GAWD it's Australia, coming home at 2am is possible. He beeped us to his level on the 14th floor. We just have to walked down 9 storeys. I didn't mind, as long as I can get home to Clement's security-card, all's good & everything can carry on. The worst came.

We walked down & down, I thought I was jinxed! Teleported to another dimension or something. The stairs never end! Looks like a maze, like a dead-end! Then we reached the 9th floor.. 8th.. 7th... 6th... ... ... ... 4th!! WHERE IS 5th FLOOR!! We got pass every floor from 14th but there is NO 5th FLOOR!! We went out on the 4th floor because I didn't want to be "stuck" in that dimension. Only to realise we were in another COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BULILDING! Have we crossed-over??? I don't want to die yet... I'm only 22!!

That was it. I almost broke into a cold sweat. I thought this was it! My first time encountering with some supernatural beings/events. Then we realised from the lift fire-exit map that we actually walk through into another Block! That's it! We went to look for the security guard.
Security guard a TALL and black negro. First thing he said: "You guys from Unit 289?" We nodded. "Look." as he turned the computer screen to us. "All of your access been denied. You all cannot move at 2am in the morning. Tenants have complained. Management has locked your keycard. Call management to re-activate it tomorrow morning." I was like..... -sheesh-

We finally got back into the house. We have got the rest of the stuffs left in the Van, parked along the road side. We didn't dare to go out anymore.
Now everytime we flash our security-card, we can imagine "Unit 289 access" on the computer screen. The security camera recording us in black&white. It just freaking me out now! Similar to like Big Brother?
Another the rest of the Friday, we moved as nosily as we could. And fixed up the load of furnitures we have bought. Rest of the entry are the pictures of all the fixing up. The before's & after's.

That's all for now. Till then... keep smiling.
