Weather & Mishaps

It was a long weekend. Had plans to go Snowy Mts for some skiing & snowboarding, in this case we thanked procrastination. Plans were cancelled. Weather was not on our side, it was pouring and gailing for the whole weekend.

Dark clouds were looming. Making the scene from outside my place appeared ominous. Feels like something "bad" is about to happen... Part of the view was bright sunny, slowly being consumed by the dark clouds with chilling wind, trees were swaying from a breeze growing into a gust of wind almost uprooting a tree.

Friday night was supposed to have a office social gathering at Star City Buffet. I gave it a miss, left office at 8.15pm. Yet much work was still left undone. It was some clearing up from Replacement Cheques to Bank Reconciliation on the following Tuesday. So met up with Clement to bring me home. Every bin in sight, would have a broken umbrellas. As Clement stated, "Why use umbrella in such harsh weather? Just walk in the rain is easier & faster than steering the umbrella." Which is quite true, I wonder why hold umbrella when you'll be wet eventually. Exposes your hands to the wetness and coldness too.

Anyway. We spent the rest of the weekend till Monday at home. Hot milo, Hot soup, Hot tea, Hot everything! It was kinda fun! But when news flash showing all the mishaps happening around NSW. It was sad. Old pacific highway collapse, flooding of Hunter River almost meeting the Ocean now, flooding of housing wrecking anything within knee-level... Bobby, Clement's cousin, studying in Newcastle had power outage for over 15 Hrs, his place was wet through. I could imagine the dampness, the coldness no heater, no electricity, no warm cooked food, can't leave to anywhere either, yes there's a car but unless it's a kayak, or else you are not getting anywhere. When night comes, positive attitude keeps you alive. If it was me, I wonder what am I going to do with myself. I'm counting my lucky stars. Thank gawd I'm at a safe location with a roof safely over my head, with blanket, a microwave & a boyfriend.
